"Familiar Strangers is my attempt to capture the vibrant streets of Mumbai—the power lines tangled above, the shops, wagons, and motorbikes, and the people immersed in their daily routines. Growing up in Australia with Indian and white parents, I’ve always felt a disconnect from my Indian heritage, like I’m both part of it and an outsider. This piece reflects my search for belonging in a place that should feel like home but remains unfamiliar. Through this artwork, I hope to bridge that gap, to connect with my roots, and to understand more about who I am."
